BLUE RIDGE GEOGRAPHICS

Since college, Ben has lived and worked at the crossroads of community organizing and data-driven solutions to address climate justice at the local level. Ben has combined his involvement in climate change activism with a professional background as a GIS analyst and commercial drone pilot to become a full-time community organizer and consultant. Ben is president of Blue Ridge GeoGraphics, LLC, and currently trains people in Appalachia as autonomous members of the Allegheny-Blue Ridge Alliance’s Pipeline CSI program to use high tech tools like geospatial data, drones, and precision water quality monitoring instruments to enhance the impact of their advocacy. He looks forward to discovering new ways to share these lessons learned with other communities facing environmentally or socially significant impacts from fossil fuel and other large infrastructure projects.
